President APJ Abdul Kalam Body Taken to His Home Town - Rameswaram

The body of former President APJ Abdul Kalam is being taken to Rameswaram. Rameswaram is the place, where the former President was born. The body is flown to his home town from Delhi in a special aircraft. This special aircraft took off at 08:15 AM form Palam airport. Union Urban Development Minister Venkaiah Naidu and Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar and senior BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain were present at the airport.

The funeral of the former President will be held in Rameswaram on Thursday (30th July, 2015) at 11 AM with full military honours.

A seven-day state mourning has been declared by the Government in honour of APJ Abdul Kalam.
